My students often ask me how to write a press release and generate consistent leads? I was in another business and I was introduced to the mentor who taught me the art of press release writing. Back then few online marketers were using press press releases as the main marketing method. I decided to do opposite from what others do. I discovered how powerful press releases are.
Just recently one of my press releases was getting over 4 million hits in11 months. I saw the power behind this marketing strategy. A lot of my clients ask me how could I do that and I say that I love writing and it is my passion and I give my audience value and the information that can interest them. It is that simple. I am a solution solver and that is what press release about. It gives the people extra information to make decision about a product, service or some company. Lets start with a simple explanation of a press release.
Press release is your key to the successful publicity.
First of all it is your story. Stories create curiosity. You can make it as announcement about new business, launch of the product, celebrating events in your life and etc.
Second of all press releases create credibility for you and they cost you very little money to distribute online and very little time is required to put it together.
Third, press releases can be picked up by other publishing services and give you publicity that you could never buy for lots of money. It builds trust and people know you are serious about what you do. It is a great ice breaker in business building relationship.
Press releases assisted me in so many ways from just driving traffic to creating amazing business partners and the best part is that those press releases are still online.
If a business owner writes 2 press releases a week, it comes to 104 press releases a year. It is not a difficult task to do but it is time consuming.

How Can You Get Your Press Release Into Search Engines
There are few ways to get your press release into search engines
1. Make sure you write an editorial. It is not a sales pitch.
2. Use Long Tail Keywords. They are very effective and it is basicly a long phrase but you have less competion. I recommend to use Marketing Samurai.
3. Make sure your keywords are in headline, first paragraph and second paragraph of the press release.
4. If you have a personal website make it known in the press release in the section about yourself. It creates backlinking
5. If you have a blog, link from your blog to press release. Again it creates more exposure.
6. Proof read it and then submit it to public relations online services
Where do you submit press releases?
From free press releases to paid version, anyone can find tons of websites to submit press releases.
However not every press release company will do their work. here is a list of recommended press releases sources
Make sure you donot submit same press release to same places. Google spiders will think you are spamming google and you can be penalized for that.

I've been discussing with people how important it is to ensure that news isnt duplicated on your own site when it's a brand new site. A couple came to the conclusion that a stronger site will reduce your new one to dust in google's eyes. So what's the answer? Is it to rewrite press releases for your own site?

I think press releases are great way to create online presence. They will stay on search engines for long time and as long as you use them wisely and link from your blog to your press releases it can help you with ranking and more exposure.
PRess releases do not have to cost money. There are tons of companies that offer free services and some may cost 10-25 dollars for press releases.
Secondly you do not need to buy into expensive SEO services they offer. Write from your heart and do keyword research and spread keywords from headline, summary, first and second paragraph and in the end.
You can even audio of yourself in the link about you.
Be creative. It all makes you stand out!

I wanted to let you know that anyone can write press release. My native language is Russian and I do think in Russian and English which may sound funny. However, the point is this. An English speaking person can do a better job than a foreigner can. I am a foreigner and I love writing. It is my passion. IF your passion is writing then follow your passion and it will be the best marketing method because you have that energy inside of you that drives you to make successful press releases. I hope I make sense.
That is why I encourage you not to be afraid of writing. we all have spell check too on the computer if you are worried about grammar. We live in high tech age and we have everything available for us. Again if you hate writing but you understand PRs are important for your business, find a professional company to write for you.

I love writing press releases. I have not writen many in a while. I have been out of the country traveling on family affairs.
